To ensure optimal capacitive sensitivity and trigger reliability, please follow these manufacturing and installation standards.
MATERIALS
A wide range of non-conductive materials are verified to work with BrightSign capacitive sensors.
- Plastic, Acrylic, Polycarbonate (PC), and Lexan
- Wood, ABS, and Tempered Glass
- Note: Avoid materials that retain static charges
THICKNESS & GAPS
Maintaining correct physical contact is critical for sensor accuracy.
- Overlay thickness must be 1/4" or thinner
- ZERO air gaps allowed between panel and overlay
- Permanent bonding (Silicone or 3M tape) recommended to prevent board flexure
BOOTUP & CALIBRATION
Self-calibrating hardware for consistent performance.
The device self-calibrates upon every bootup. Ensure panels and overlays are fully connected to the BrightSign player prior to applying power. Any changes to overlay placement after power-on will nullify the previous calibration.
